THE BOOK
FAQ
Everything you need to know about Booker Blitz before you pull up a chair.
THE GAME
What is Booker Blitz?
It's a wrestling promotion management sim. You run the company: build a roster, sign talent, handle contracts and finances, book the cards and then run the shows. It's built for people who read a match result and immediately think “I would have booked that differently.”
Who makes it?
One person. I'm David, and I make it under the Dark Magic Studios name. That means the dev team and the customer support desk are the same guy, so please be nice to him.
How is it different from other wrestling sims?
The headline is the Gorilla Position, a live decision-making system that puts you in the booking chair while the show is happening. Beyond that, the whole game is built keyboard-first so you can fly through menus, it has deep simulation systems under the hood, and it can be modded with plain JSON files.
GORILLA POSITION
What is the Gorilla Position?
It's the part of the show where the booker stops planning and starts reacting. In wrestling, the Gorilla Position is the spot behind the curtain where the person running the show makes calls in real time. In Booker Blitz, that's you. The show is live, things happen, and you make the booking decisions on the fly.
TITLES, ALLIANCES AND SEGMENT PRESETS
How do titles work?
Every title has a prestige that moves with the matches fought for it. Good matches between popular, high-ability wrestlers raise it, and bad ones with low-rated workers drag it down. Title matches give the crowd a bonus scaled by that prestige, so a world title pops harder than a midcard belt. A title that changes hands every other week stops getting the pop, and a top title defended too often loses prestige from overexposure. Winning a title lifts morale and popularity, longer reigns pay off, and dropping the belt stings a little.
Can titles belong to a brand?
With brand split on, titles stay company-wide but each brand can claim some as its own. Those show up first in the match wizard for that brand's shows with a badge, and a title can be a brand title for one brand at most.
What are development titles?
Any title can be flagged as a development title. It gets its own section on the titles screen and is used on development shows. On regular shows it stays out of the match wizard unless you pick it manually.
How do alliances work?
You can create an alliance from the Promotions screen with a name and an optional picture, then invite other promotions to join. Whether they accept depends on things like how popular they are and whether they compete with you, and a promotion already in an alliance will say no. Members can send wrestlers to a shared alliance roster that every member can use on their shows. You can also mark titles as Alliance Titles, which can be defended in other member promotions, and invite another promotion to take part in your next show.
What are segment presets?
The segment wizard lets you start blank or start from a preset. Presets fill in the location and the parts of the segment with their durations, and everything stays editable. They include contract signing, interrupted in-ring promo, backstage run-in beatdown, video hype package and injury announcement. You can also save any segment you've built as a template (talent selections are stripped out), then rename or delete templates later. Templates live in your save file.
EXTRA FEATURES WORTH KNOWING ABOUT
Can I split my company into brands?
Yes. Brand split lets you turn weekly shows into brands, each with its own roster and staff. Anyone without a brand stays a company free agent that any brand can book, though a free agent working both shows in one week will get tired and the match wizard warns you about it. Talent can switch brands, but only once every 6 in-game months. Turn the split off and everything goes back to company-wide.
Is there a development brand?
Yes. The development weekly show books itself from the development roster. Title matches follow each title's defence frequency, and development PPVs put as many development titles on the line as they can. You get a farm system without doing the paperwork.
Do managers actually do anything?
They do. You can assign a manager to a wrestler from the wrestler's page, and the manager then joins their clients at ringside automatically when you book them. Segments get manager-flavoured moments like cheering, distractions and interference teases. If you import a database, managers are inferred from the teams and stables in it.
Can the game help me find a feud?
When a wrestler has no active feud, a recommender suggests the 3 to 5 best opponents, scored on chemistry, opposite alignment, crowd heat and how long since they last crossed paths. Each suggestion comes with a one-line pitch and you can start the feud in one click. Wrestlers without a feud get a badge on the roster list, and the History tab shows a timeline of their past feuds and how they ended.
SCOUTS, TRAINERS AND DEVELOPMENT
How does the development flow work?
Find new talent by sending scouts to a base or by opening a wrestling school. Put that talent on the roster of your development brand. The development show books itself every week, and you step in only where you care. When someone is ready, move them to another brand with Switch brand.
What do scouts do?
You send a scout to a base from the scouting department. The scout works for a set amount of time and comes back with 2 or 3 recommended wrestlers from that base. These are real free agents from the existing external talent pool, not freshly invented ones, so you're finding talent that was already out there.
What are wrestling schools?
You can open a wrestling school at a base from the Development screen. Once it's open, it produces 2 or 3 brand new wrestlers from that base every year. They're full wrestlers with stats, looks, a starting gimmick and a name, they can go straight onto your roster, and they're marked as school graduates so you know where they came from.
Does it matter how much I invest?
Yes. The Academy is a facility, and investing in it improves both the quality and the number of wrestlers your schools produce at the end of the year. The training gym boosts skills across the board and makes your trainers more effective.
How does the development brand run?
Mark a weekly show as a development show, then turn it into a development brand. The development roster and travelling staff work that show, and development titles have their own section. The show is booked automatically, with title matches following each title's defence frequency. Development PPVs put as many development titles on the line as possible. You can still pre-book segments and matches, and they're always merged into the final card.
What happens if a development champion gets injured, suspended or fired?
The development authority figure handles it, so titles don't get stuck on a champion who can't work.
EARLY ACCESS
When does it launch?
November 9, 2026 on Steam.
Why Early Access?
Wrestling sims have a thousand moving parts, and wrestling fans notice every single one. I'd rather finish the game alongside people who actually book shows than guess in the dark.
How long will it stay in Early Access?
I'm planning for 6 to 12 months. That's a target, not a blood oath, and I'll keep you posted if it moves.
How much does it cost?
€19.99, with a 25% discount during Early Access. Steam will show the price in your local currency.
What's not in the game yet?
Two things, and I'd rather say it up front: Multiplayer is not in Early Access. Steam Workshop is not in Early Access, so mods are installed by hand for now.
Will it keep getting updates?
Yes. Updates and patch notes will land through Steam throughout Early Access, and your feedback decides a lot of what gets fixed first.
REAL WRESTLERS AND TEW IMPORT
Does it have real wrestlers or promotions?
No. Booker Blitz has no licensed wrestlers or promotions, because a solo dev and a licensing department are not a realistic combination.
Can I still book the roster I want?
Yes. Booker Blitz can import TEW databases (.mdb files). The wrestling sim community has been building and sharing databases for years, so if you want a particular era or promotion, community databases are the way to get it.
What if an import looks wrong?
Tell me. Importing a database from another game is the kind of thing that always finds a weird edge case, and Early Access is the right time to hear about them. Post it in Steam discussions or send me an email.
SAVES, MODS AND PLATFORMS
Will my saves survive updates?
Early Access means the game will change, and I can't promise that every update keeps every save intact. I'll flag anything that affects saves in the patch notes, and backing up your save files before a big update is a cheap habit worth having.
Can I mod the game?
Yes. Mods are JSON based, so you can edit and share them as plain files. There's no Steam Workshop support in Early Access, which means installing mods manually for now.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows and Linux are supported at launch. Steam Deck is playable — Valve's official compatibility review is still pending, so the badge may not show up on launch day.
What does “playable, pending Valve review” mean on Steam Deck?
It runs on the Deck, but Valve hasn't finished its official compatibility review yet, so the Steam badge may not show up on launch day. It's up to Valve's queue, not to how much I stare at it.
FEEDBACK AND CONTACT
I found a bug or have an idea. Where do I go?
Steam discussions, the Discord, or email, whichever is easiest. I read all of it, and a clear bug report with steps to reproduce is the fastest way to get something fixed.
